The directors of b:ssec are pleased to advertise for the post of an associate to join the management team and play a senior role in business delivery and expansion. The role will include new business development, the development of a delivery team and the delivery of consultancy projects.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development
Generate new consultancy business, typically commissions in;
- Energy strategies and low carbon design of buildings
- Energy saving in existing buildings / Energy efficiency and refit type programme
- Due diligence / Assurance
Sectors to target are;
- Investment / Investors / Financial Services
- Retail
- Hotel / Leisure / Hospitality
- Implementation services providers
- Property Developers / Design teams / Delivery Teams
Team Leadership
Reporting to the managing director.
To lead / grow and develop a delivery team of in house consultants to deliver projects in 2012.
To liaise with the Technical Associate on all challenging technical matters and as a part of the review process. Pass all low carbon design advice leads to the technical associate for follow up.

- Fee proposals
- Client meetings
- Project management
- Timesheet and expenses management
- Programme
- Leave approval
- Appraisals
- Training programme
- Internal management account reporting
Team appointment will be a joint exercise with the associate and MD.
Consultancy
To deliver fee commissions personally.
The mixture of consultancy work will partly depend on the associate’s business development but the current expected work to lead (delivered directly or through managing other consultants to deliver it) includes;
- Low carbon design advice
- Analysis of energy data and trends
- Site surveys and energy and carbon audits
- Energy efficiency technologies and techniques
- Behaviour change programmes
- Production of action plans
- Cost management
- Project management of external delivery partners
- Client reporting
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
- CIBSE Chartered Engineer or equivalent
- 3 years experience in low carbon consultancy
- Strong business development track record
- Strong delivery track record
Desired
- Carbon Trust Accredited Consultancy
- Contracting and/or consultancy experience
- A strong team development track record
