Carbon Strategy Targets

Objectives

Kingfisher is the parent company to five leading DIY stores across Europe with interests reaching as far as China. b:ssec was contracted to assess  the carbon and energy saving impact that technologies could have upon Kingfisher’s existing and new buildings. b:ssec’s work was intended to be used as a Carbon Strategy project with the intention of predicting the global impact of carbon reduction technologies.

Delivery

A carbon baseline was produced and used to assess stores in the UK, France, Spain, Poland, Russia and China. Covering B&Q, Screwfix, Castorama, Brico and Koctas stores. In each case, a carbon strategy was proposed. Opportunities to reduce carbon emissions were also proposed for each case.
