Carbon Management

b:ssec is one of a select few companies within the UK which is nationally accredited by the Carbon Trust to provide Carbon Management.

Carbon management can include the management of emissions resulting from Scope I direct emissions (examples include gas, oil, diesel and petrol), Scope II indirect emissions (examples include electricity and imported heat) and Scope III emissions (examples include business travel, supply chains, embodied carbon in materials and products). See our case studies for examples of our consultancy work.

Carbon Management involves assessing an organisation’s opportunities and threats due to  climate change including impacts upon corporate social responsibility, brand management, change management and technical issues.

Through our consultancy we have experienced organisational energy savings of 20% with potential carbon footprint reductions of up to 60%.

Carbon Management usually follows the 5 steps of; mobilising the organisation, evaluating the business case, identification of opportunities, development of an implementation plan, and the management of implementation.

For further information see this case study.
